It is important to understand a difference between  massage  for adults and massage for babies. The difference is that an instructor will never massage your baby. You, and you alone are the only expert in your baby. Massage should be performed only at the appropriate time and only if your baby gives you permission to do so. Asking your baby’s permission before you start massage shows that you respect your baby and its wishes.

“CUES” are paramount to infant massage. During the massage parent teaches the baby to make decisions about who touches them and how to say “NO” if the baby does not want to be touched. The ability to say “NO” at such a young age will help protect the baby from many troubles arising in teenage period such as drugs, alcohol, smoking etc.
